Lake County opens Storm Recovery Center in wake of Hurricane Milton

Lake County has established a Storm Recovery Center at CareerSource Central Florida, located at 9909 US-441, Bldg. M in Leesburg.

Federal, state, regional, and non-profit partners will be on site to offer available resources to individuals and business affected by Hurricane Milton. Shuttle service to the Storm Recovery Center will be available for residents traveling from designated sites in Astor, Clermont, and the Lake Mack area. 

Participating Resource Partners 

Lake County Offices: Housing & Community Services, Building Services, Economic Development: income-based disaster mitigation assistance, permitting, and business support 

CareerSource Central Florida: unemployment assistance, job placement, and recruitment services 

Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA): assistance with applications and appeals    

Hope Florida, American Red Cross, Salvation Army: emotional and financial recovery    

Community Legal Services, LifeStream Behavioral Center: legal and behavioral health support

Monday-Friday: 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. 

Saturday: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. 

Shuttle Service

Beginning Monday, Lake County will provide shuttle service from designated locations to the Storm Recovery Center. Designated locations include: 

• Butler Street Boat Ramp in Astor (Comfort Station) – 55400 Butler St., Astor, FL 32102 

• Pine Forest Park (Comfort Station) – 32520 State Road 44, Deland, FL 32726 

• Clermont Park & Ride – 1995 S. Highway 27, Clermont, FL 34711
